Become one of the many artists and/or collectors at this year’s Third
Annual Seagrass Gallery Artists' Yard Sale. Held rain or shine, this event
draws patrons from far and wide looking for deals on original art as well
as artists looking for supplies. This year the popular event invites
collectors to purchase a space to sell "Downsized Art!"
"Every day someone comes into the gallery," says Doris Platis, director
of Seagrass Gallery, "wanting to sell or even to give away art that just
does not fit their new home or new lifestyle. Many people want to replace
their art with some of the work created by the many talented artists who
live on Camano Island and Stanwood. There is just no place to do this. For
Shoppers, the Artists' Yard sale is a wonderful place to find a fantastic
deal on "pre-owned fine art."
A 10 x 10 space at the event goes for $25 for all three days, and this
money is donated to the Seagrass Gallery Scholarship Fund intended to
kindle the creativity in young artists 12-15 years of age. Doris Platis
