Ben has been pursuing the art of metal work for the past ten years. With steel, bronze and stainless steel, Ben creates unique works that can follow classic baroque curves, simple and elegant contemporary lines, or display a unique hand forged style. <>"I like to create pieces that are as varied in style and form as the beaches of Camano Island are to the rugged North Cascades." - Ben Rainchild Ben has created hand-forged bronze orcas, turned scrap metal into an eight-foot-tall stinging bee, and brought motion to his work in the form of a large wind-driven kinetic sculpture. The variety of styles and materials Ben incorporates allows him to create works as varied as graceful bronze herons, elegant steel and glass furniture, and installations such as gates, railings and tree grates. Come to the lecture, listen and learn, bring questions, and see all the great art on display in the gallery.
